Climate Change Impacts

Climate change due to Asian Brown Clouds is investigated in this project. Numerical weather forecasting model has been employed to estimate the reduction to rainfall and temperature due to absorption and scattering by short wave radiation. Based on the predicted weather impacts on various water using sectors are analyzed. A detailed study has been conducted in Sri Lanka where agriculture was found to be the most affected sector. Rice yield prediction under changed conditions reveal high fertilizer using areas are the most vulnerable and that rice yields can become lower by as much as 15%.
